Edithink was present in the Gulf of Trieste to witness the loading of the first four lock gates for the new Panama Canal project, a delicate operation which was divided between the ports of Porto Nogaro and Trieste.

The four lock gates were first loaded onto a barge and then transferred to a special semi-submersible platform which transported them to Panama.

Edithink filmed the transport of the gates from Porto Nogaro across the Grado lagoon, and the loading operation in the port of Trieste. In this phase we shot several sequences in time lapse photography, concentrating into a few seconds an operation that in reality lasted over six hours. Once the four gates had been loaded, the Edithink crew filmed the departure of the special platform for Panama.

Our own film crew was joined by dozens of Italian crews and one from National Geographic Channel.
As part of an agreement with our client Geodis Wilson, Edithink is to provide a copy of its footage to the company which is in charge of an international production for National Geographic Channel.
